The Journey Begins

We left Calgary on    October 31st 2014 just ahead of a blizzad that brought 2 ft of snow and -19 temperatures. We managed to lose our 5th wheel after 4 blocks!!

Oak Flats Campground about 40 miles east of Pheonix, in the hills just behind Superior AZ. We explored a number of boondocking sites in the area but this one felt like home. There was a nice meadow outside the campground proper that would handle a rig our size without needing to back up - a major consideration at this stage in our journeys.

stevevilleSteveville is part of Dinosaur Provincial Park. Its an overflow campground at the far west end of the park but camping is free. Its located just north of the Red Deer river in a grove of old cottonwood trees and is not usually too busy outside of long weekends.

overtonOverton is about 50 miles NE of Las Vegas, About 10 miles S of I-15 and the camping area is on top of a Mesa about 5 miles S of town. This is an awesome area if you like wide vistas where you can see for miles and miles

We decided to visit Craggy Wash to meet up with friends Scott and Lora and can thoroughly reccommend it! It is a lovely site with lots of places to explore. We were also able to get a service to come ut and pump out our black tank for a reasonable price.
